Welcome to Uberspace!

On this page, we'll walk you through the basics of navigating your Asteroid. We provide a hosting platform targeted at people who want to look behind the scenes, do things we didn’t anticipate and generally prefer working with a text-based console.

Our objective is to not only host the content you’d like to see on the web, but also to introduce you to Linux and basic shell usage - regardless of your budget.

  Added:

  • We now provide kirby-cli.
  • You can now install WordPress, Nextcloud, and BookStack with uberspace app install wordpress, uberspace app install nextcloud, and uberspace app install bookstack.

  Changed:

  • We now block IP addresses for one day after two SSH login attempts as root or with an invalid username within five minutes. Previously, only attempts as root were covered, with a limit of five attempts within two minutes. Check your Asteroid name carefully: typos can trigger this block too. For valid Asteroid names, the limit remains 100 failed logins within five minutes, with the same one-day block.

  Fixed:

  • Logging into our Dashboard with curl works again after the update to curl 8.22.0. Installing publicsuffixlist resolved the issue.
